WEEKLY REFLECTION – 22 MARCH 24 BY DR TAN TEK SENG
”And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.”
1 John 5:14-15
Prayer is the most direct way to speak to God, to thank Him, to ask Him for provisions, and to connect with Him about what is going on in life and in the world.
George Mueller was a Christian evangelist and the director of the Ashley Down orphanage in Bristol, England. He established 117 schools which offered Christian education to more than 120,000 orphans. He is known for his strong faith in God and his reliance on prayer to provide for the needs of the orphanage, without ever asking for donations. He trusted in God’s faithfulness to answer prayers that align with His will. His life is a testament of countless prayers answered and provision provided for the orphans under his care.
1 John 5:14-15 encourages believers to approach God with faith, trust, and assurance, knowing that He hears and responds to their prayers according to His divine purpose and plan.
“Pray as though everything depended on God. Work as though everything depended on you.” - St. Augustine
