WEEKLY REFLECTION – 12 JAN 24 BY DR TAN TEK SENG

”When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.“
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭2‬ ‭

God is a wonder-making God who promises to be with us, to protect us, and to ensure that we are not overcome by our trials and tribulations.

Mother Teresa was a Catholic nun and missionary known for her humanitarian work in Kolkata, India. Her life reflected a deep faith and trust in God, and she often faced overwhelming circumstances, including poverty, disease, and social injustice, yet she continued to serve and help those in need, providing care, comfort, and dignity to the destitute and dying. Her unwavering faith allowed her to persevere and make a significant impact in the lives of others, despite the seemingly insurmountable challenges she faced. She received numerous awards, including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, for her significant contributions to humanity.

Isaiah 43:2 is a source of encouragement and strength for individuals facing adversity. We are assured of God’s unwavering presence and his ability to safeguard us through the challenges we encounter. It reminds believers that they can confidently navigate through life’s trials and tribulations, knowing that God is by their side.

“Prayer is the simplest and surest way to convey appreciation to God.”
